Attaching Test Reports to Emis LV

How to Attach a Test Report

1. Collect the C.Net5000 or C.Net2000+ test report using Cardionetics Connect as normal.

2. In Connect, fill in the patients details on the Heading page of the report.

3. Save the report. Make a careful note of the name and location of the folder where the file has been saved. You will need this information in order to locate the file when you attach it to Emis LV.

Note: Connect saves test reports as Cardionetics Data Files, with the extension .car and the heart logo.

4. Open Emis LV and select the patient (press F5 to perform a patient search).

5. Having selected the patient, go into MR (Medical/Clinical Record).

6. Press C for Consultations.

7. Click on the Attachments (paper clip) icon on the toolbar at the top of the screen.

8. The Add Attachment window will appear. In the Attachment Description box type a description of the attachment, e.g., C.Net5000 Test Report or Ambulatory/24 hour ECG assessment.

9. Click in the Attachment Filename box, and then click on the Browse button to the right of the Attachment Filename box (not the Scanner button).

10. The Open dialog box now appears. Use the Look in box to locate and select the folder where the Cardionetics test report is saved.

11. In the Files of type box, change the setting to All Files.

12. Find the Cardionetics test report file (.car), highlight it by clicking once on it, then click the Open button.

13. It will now return to the previous Add Attachment window. The mouse icon will change to an hour glass, this is normal. Click once on the Attach button at the bottom right of the Add Attachment window.

14. This should take you back to the patient in Emis LV. Press F8 to file the patient.

You have now attached the test report into the patient file in Emis LV.
